How To Configure Quic Cloud CDN For Root Domain

We were configuring Quic Cloud CDN – Since we discover the solution for using Quic Cloud for the root domain. So our main domain (heyapakabar.com) also can use Quic Cloud CDN.

If the previous article talks about “How To integrate Quic Cloud CDN Into LiteSpeed Cache,” but it only applies to Sub-Domain (www.heyapakabar.com). Then this article can be said as an advanced or alternative guideline.

What is Quic Cloud CDN?

Quic Cloud is one of free CDN which capable for caching WordPress Dynamic Page well.

Quic Cloud offers QUIC service as the transfer protocol, make your website faster since your web will be available at their entire data center and safer.

Configure Quic Cloud CDN

Before using the Quic Cloud service, please make sure you used LiteSpeed as your webserver. And for the configuration using the LiteSpeed Cache plugin. Here are the steps :

1. Install and Configure LiteSpeed Cache Plugin

First thing to do is install LiteSpeed Cache plugin via WordPress.org repo

After complete, the installation then goes to the menu General » General Setting » Domain Key » Request Domain Key.

And wait patiently until domain key available.

After the domain key available, click the Visit My Dashboard on Quick.cloud” button. There will be a pop-up window that appears or opening a new page to do Quic Cloud registration. If you don’t have an account please register first before continue, or log in if you register already.

2. Configure Quic Cloud

There will be menu on Quic Cloud dashboard, like :

  • Overview
  • CDN
  • Image Optimization
  • CCSS
  • LQIP
  • Setting

First of all, please make sure IP Hosting or server has been filled with correct information at Settings Page.

If there is no data yet, please input your IP Hosting or server to the Server IP column and click the “Save Settings” button.

CDN

In this page you can click “Enable CDN” to begin using Quic Cloud CDN.

After you click the button, it will bring you to a new page like the image below. Please read carefully and follow the instruction in the box with a brown background. Every user has a different CDN, for example, c86729.tier1.quic.cloud.

And in the “Map Both” section, please make sure you turn the switch on.

Let this page remain opened meanwhile you log in to Cloudflare using your login account (you have to register if you don’t have one).

3. DNS Configuration on Cloudflare

This configuration is only to Quic Cloud pointing since Cloudflare support CNAME Flattening DNS.

To make your job easier in this section, please follow this sample from following image.

After you filled DNS data correctly, please go back to the CDN page (at Quic Cloud account page).

The hit “Refresh Status”.

Wait for a while until the status change to the green checklist at CDN In Use, CNAME Verified, and SSL Certificate Is Valid section.

Testing the Quic Cloud

After performing all Quic Cloud configuration correctly, now its time to perform testing on the website. Please erase all cache in the browser and caching plugin before beginning the testing.

Please try to access the website which you configure recently and activate developer mode on the browser.
